Get To Know Me

Its true what they say, we change over time; as a result of the experiences, ups and downs life puts us through. This is the reason I’ve decided to update this page. I’m no longer the person I was when I first decided to start writing and I won’t be the same in a year.

Hopefully, by reading this you’ll get an idea of who I am and why I write (though this is explained below 🙂 )

So onto the statement I find most difficult to respond to: Tell us about yourself

Well my name is Wambui Njoroge. You may hear some people call me Ivy. Yes it is a name that is recorded on all my government documents, but for reasons I’ll explain later on I’ve made the decision to drop it.

I’m an International Business and Marketing student, at the University of Leeds. Business has always had a soft spot in my heart despite my various attempts to run away from it. Why International business? Well considering the world is becoming more of a ‘village’ it is important to discover how this globalisation affects the world’s ‘driver’ i.e business. On the other hand marketing is a very important tool that businesses right now are discovering they need.. I mean to keep up a relationship you need to put in work right.. in the business world, think of it as marketing.

I’m actually really shy in person. Most people who know me in person don’t believe me when I say this to them; either they’ve known me for a long time, or they happened to be lucky to meet me when my confidence levels were high. Truth is I want to be extroverted, in any public place my insides are screaming for me to say hi or something to someone, but by introverted nature takes the win and I remain silent. Although this has improved remarkable over the last year. I love making friends though 🙂

I enjoy writing, I usually have so many thoughts going on in my head particularly because I tend to observe situations/people (thanks to my introverted nature). As a result of this, I write to get people thinking about situations  that are common to us all whether or not we realise it. These topics range from family issues to personal issues to experiences of life. However, I can never share my thoughts if I don’t feel very passionate about them. They just end up in one of the many journals I keep. If you’re interested in finding out more, feel free to have a look at my previous posts.

Other interests of mine include : baking, travelling, colouring, reading novels, taking pictures ( I’m no photographer though ) but I tend to share some of my shots on Instagram :).

Seems like that’s a good enough summary of who I am, short and sweet just like me ❤ (I also tell really bad jokes and end up laughing at them for hours much to the annoyance of my friends and family :D)

Well lets get to it shall we?

I hope those who read, can find that they resonate with me on some if not all of the topics discussed.

Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
George Bernard Shaw
